Our Projects

This section showcases the films we create at Tay River Pictures. We’ve produced our first short film, Devil Amongst You, and are currently developing our debut feature, The Woman at the River, now in pre‑production. As we grow, this page will continue to highlight our original work alongside future shorts and features. Alongside our film projects, Tay River Pictures also develops original written fiction created by our founder. These stories explore the same psychological and supernatural themes found in our films and represent the narrative foundation of our visual style.

Devil Amongst You

Project Overview

Devil Amongst You is a short psychological horror film produced by Tay River Pictures. Created as a proof‑of‑concept for our visual style and storytelling approach, the film explores paranoia, isolation, and the unseen forces that haunt everyday life. It is based on the original short story The Wrong Place, written by Ante Caleta and published in Black Petals Horror/Science Fiction Magazine.

Production Background

The project was developed and shot on a micro‑budget using a small two‑person crew, with a focus on practical lighting, atmospheric locations, and tight shot planning. It served as a testbed for our production‑support workflow - from script breakdowns and scheduling to editing and colour grading.

Release & Media

The film is available to watch on YouTube. This project marks the beginning of Tay River Pictures’ move into original filmmaking, leading directly into our first feature, The Woman at the River, currently in pre‑production.

The Woman at the River
Currently in Pre-production

The Woman at the River is a micro‑budget Scottish feature film currently in development and early production. The project blends investigative drama with mythic, atmospheric storytelling set along the riverbanks of Perthshire. The film follows a paranormal investigator drawn into a quiet but unsettling mystery surrounding the legendary Washerwoman. The Woman at the River pulls the viewer into a slow, psychological descent where memory fractures, reality thins, and the river keeps its own secrets.

This project is being developed and produced by Tay River Pictures as part of our ongoing focus on independent film creation, development support, and post‑production services. It showcases Tay River Pictures’ approach to lean, efficient, atmospheric filmmaking, combining strong planning, minimal gear, and precise post‑production to create cinematic results on a small scale.
